My goal as your doula is to provide you with continuous emotional, informational and physical support during

 your pregnancy, labor and delivery.

~Now accepting new clients, from August 1, 2010~ Free Initial Consultation Meeting in person allows you to ask any questions you'd like and to get to know me a bit. This interview helps you decide if I'm the right fit to serve your family. Prenatal Meetings After you decide to work with me, we'll set up our first of 2 prenatal appointments. We'll discuss your ideals for your labor and birth, as well as your available options. I'll provide you with educational information and suggested reading or resources. If you'd like, I may also attend with you one of your prenatal appointments with your health care provider. At our second prenatal appointment, I can help you write up a birth plan and we'll discuss more points and reminders for labor. Unlimited Phone and Email Support Please don't hesitate to contact me via phone or email with any question or concern. I want you to feel comfortable enough to call me, day or night - that's what I'm here for....... Labor and Delivery I will be on call for you 24 hours a day, beginning two weeks before your estimated due date and until you deliver your baby. As soon as you decide you need me, I'll be there. This may be in very early labor at your home or upon your arrival at the hospital, whichever you prefer. Once you begin labor, I will not leave you, except for very minimal necessities. I will actively assist you and your partner during labor, using the techniques we discussed at our prenatal appointments. I can also take pictures for you if you wish. After delivery of your baby I will help you with immediate breastfeeding and make sure that you are comfortable. I can get you and your partner something to eat or stay with you while your partner makes phone calls or attends to other needs. After you have all been tended to and are ready for family bonding time, I will leave. Postpartum Visits I will check on you the day after delivery of your baby, to see how you are adjusting. If you need me, I can come to the hospital or to your home. If everything is fine, I will contact you 1-2 weeks later to set up a postpartum appointment. We will discuss your birth, how it turned out, any concerns and how you both feel about the birth. I will also give you a copy of your birth story, from my perspective. And of course I'd love to admire your baby !
